Everyone wants to know how to make money online, and for good reason.
Bloggers who build income streams are free to work on projects they’re passionate about and not forced by the 9-5 wage system.
But who has the time to research all the opportunities out there? It can get overwhelming quickly.
The following ten tips will help you narrow down your search and create a roadmap so you don’t feel overwhelmed by all of the options.
1. Create an online course.
As an entrepreneur, you can leverage the expertise that you’ve gained in your industry and turn it into a viable business.
You can create an online course on just about anything and sell it to those who are looking to learn more about the subject.
There are plenty of platforms that will allow you to host your course for a fee.
Some of these platforms take a percentage of each sale while others charge a monthly or yearly membership rate.
Many courses come in the form of video tutorials, which means you’ll need a webcam and microphone.
You also need to make sure that your internet connection is stable enough so you don’t lose connection during the recording process.
Make sure you think long and hard about how long your course should be before planning out its contents.
If it goes too long, people may get bored with the content, but if it’s too short then they may feel like they didn’t get their money’s worth from their purchase.
2. Become a marketing affiliate.
Being an affiliate marketer means you are promoting someone else’s product and earning a commission when someone clicks your unique link to that product, resulting in a sale.
You can sign up through an affiliate network or directly with the company whose products you want to sell.
The average affiliate makes anywhere from $1,000 to $10,000 per month.
If you’re still not sure what a marketing affiliate is, let’s go back to the beginning.
In its simplest form, an “affiliate” is someone who earns money by promoting another person or company’s products.
When people search for your links online and make purchases on the other end of those links, you earn a commission for every sale made through you.
An “affiliate program” is how merchants give their affiliates the tools they need to promote their products and get paid for their efforts.
Affiliate programs often allow marketers access to links that they can share on websites, blogs or social media sites such as Facebook so they can track purchases made by users tracked through those links.
3. Get paid to test products.
Many companies pay to have their websites, apps, and software tested. In other words, they are willing to pay you to find and fix any bugs or issues before they’re released to the public.
Becoming a tester is an easy way to make money online if you don’t mind giving your opinion—and you can always decline a task if it’s not your thing.
As a tester for UserTesting.com, you’ll be asked to visit websites or apps, complete a set of tasks and record your thoughts as you go through them.
All of this information is sent back to the client for analysis so that they can improve their product for future testers like yourself! You can also test products by recording videos with UserTesting.

4. Sell your old phone.
There are many ways to make money online and making money while you travel is something that has become a lot easier in recent years.
You can easily earn some extra cash or even develop a sustainable side hustle selling your old phone.
Whether it’s an iPhone or Android, your phone still holds value long after you’ve upgraded to the latest model.
You might be surprised at how much you can get for selling your old cell phone but there are many online platforms that specialize in doing exactly this. You could sell your device directly to a recycling company like Gazelle, Sell My Cell Phones, or even Apple themselves through their trade-in program.
Alternatively, you could sell it directly to an individual through sites like eBay or Craigslist.
Facebook Marketplace is another great way of selling your old electronics.
5. Become a virtual assistant.
A virtual assistant is someone who provides a wide range of support services to people and businesses from a remote location.
The types of tasks they do sometimes called administrative or admin tasks, vary depending on the needs of their clients.
The amazing thing about being a virtual assistant is that you can work for multiple clients at the same time.
So if you’re interested, here are some tips to help get you started:
- Decide what services you want to offer and how much you’ll charge for them
- Create a website that markets your services and displays reviews from past clients
- Use your network of friends and family to find potential customers
6. Sell your photos.
If you have a knack for photography, you can make money by uploading your photos to various sites.
You will earn money each time someone downloads one of your photos, but the amount you make depends on what rights the buyer wants to purchase. The prices for standard license photos start at $0.25, whereas an extended license photo can cost $199+.
To increase your chances of selling your photos, it’s recommended that you take photographs of things that are in high demand (e.g., food and technology).
7. Write and sell ebooks.
If you have a great idea for an ebook and can write it yourself, then this is a great way to make money online.
Ebooks are simple to create, but that doesn’t mean anyone can do it.
You need to understand how to target an audience, obviously, but you also need writing skills.
If you don’t have good writing skills and want to make an ebook, consider hiring someone else to write the book for you. It will cost more than if you write the book yourself, but it could be worth it if your writing ability is not very good (or not very fast).
The other thing about ebooks is that they require some promotion in order for them to sell well. For example:
- you should know how many hours per day or week you’re going to devote to promotion
- you should know who your target audience is (and where they “live” online) so that when you go out promoting your new ebook
- you’ll be able to quickly and easily find them on the internet
8. Freelance from home.
Freelancing is another great way to work from home and earn money online.
If you have a passion for writing, there are plenty of opportunities for you to pursue it as a freelancer.
There are countless websites that offer you a chance to perform freelance tasks such as writing blog posts, doing graphic designing or translating manuscripts.
Some examples include Fiverr, Upwork and Freelancer.com.
It’s important that you take your time when picking the right site since some aren’t legitimate while others might not be in your best interest financially.
The best way to get started is by looking at what skills you have and which ones can translate into making money online.
These could range from graphic design, web design, editing documents or even researching topics on the internet for content writers or bloggers.
Once you know what skills can help add value to others’ businesses or blogs, it will be time to start looking for jobs on one of these sites or even creating your own website if possible using WordPress with a platform such as Bluehost so that you can have control over how much your services will cost without paying commission fees to someone else’s company like Fiverr does per sale.
Some of the tools we recommend using include Grammarly Premium with Chrome extensions which allow them both together seamlessly integrate within any browser window while double-checking text before publishing anything live online via WordPress websites etc., Slack App Integration Software called “Screenhero” (or) Skitch (for remote teams).
9. Start a blog.
There are two types of people who start a blog: those who want it to be the basis for their business, and those who simply want to make money from traffic, either by selling advertising space or promoting affiliate products (items made by other companies that you recommend).
If you’re the former type of person, you’ll want to use a Content Management System (CMS) like WordPress. These allow you to add new pages and posts easily, as well as install plugins and widgets that provide additional functionality. You’ll also need your own hosting account so that your website isn’t linked with someone else’s domain name.
If you can write but are not sure what type of blog to create, consider starting a personal blog where you write about your daily life. Talk about things that interest you and post photos of yourself doing those things. People love reading personal blogs because they feel like they get to know the blogger’s style—whether it’s crazy or plain-spoken—and personality through their writing.
The real key here is finding something interesting enough to write about on an ongoing basis in addition to providing quality content on a regular basis so that people will return often and spread the word about your blog. Choose topics that appeal to a wide audience rather than niche interests unless there is money being made in these niche areas!
10. Write paid reviews on websites.
Writing reviews is one of the most popular ways to make money online from home. It’s really easy to sign up for a website and fill out paid reviews, which can be helpful if you need some extra income on the side. However, it’s important to remember a few things when writing your review.
Make sure that you’re giving an honest opinion about the product or service without exaggerating any features or lying about what it does. Companies specifically want honest opinions, so don’t try to say something nice just because you think they’ll like it more.
Also, make sure that you have a good understanding of the product before writing a review; otherwise, your perspective might not be clear enough and you won’t be able to give an accurate review.
If at all possible, also make sure that somebody else has tried using this product before as well so that your experience will be more valid based on other people’s voices as well.
You don’t need someone who has tried everything for every review that you do since it would take way too long and most companies aren’t going to pay for reviews like those anyway (if they did then they probably wouldn’t get very many writers).
As long as you keep these tips in mind while doing online paid reviews then you should have no problem making money in no time!
